How to Launch a Laundry Detergent Sheets Product Line with Klean Leaf

Launching a new laundry detergent sheets brand can feel complicated at the beginning.

There are formulas to compare, fragrances to choose, packaging styles to review, artwork files to prepare, samples to approve, and lead times to plan around. For many new brands, the hardest part is not the product idea itself. It is knowing what happens next.

At Klean Leaf, we try to keep the process clear and practical. Whether you are starting a new laundry brand, adding detergent sheets to your current product line, or testing a private label item for retail, the workflow is usually simple.

Here is what the process looks like from the first inquiry to your first production order.

Private label laundry detergent sheets launch workflow with sample and packaging steps

Step 1: Submit the Online Form

The first step is to submit your inquiry through the form on the Klean Leaf website.

You do not need to have every detail ready at this stage. It helps if you already know your target product count, package style, fragrance preference, and estimated order quantity, but it is okay if you are still deciding.

The form gives us a starting point so we can understand what you are looking for and prepare the right information before we talk.

Step 2: We Reply and Schedule a Meeting

After we receive your form, our team will reply and schedule a meeting with you.

During the meeting, we usually walk through the main product decisions together:

  • Product format
  • Sheet count
  • Fragrance or fragrance-free option
  • Formula direction
  • Package options
  • Private label requirements
  • Sample needs
  • MOQ
  • Production lead time
  • Shipping plan

This call is helpful because many brands are still comparing options. Some clients know exactly what they want. Others are not sure whether to choose a paper envelope, paper box, or another package style. We can explain what is commonly used, what is easier for retail, and what makes sense for your first order.

Step 3: Share Your Shipping Address for Samples

Once we understand your product direction, we will ask for your shipping address and send available samples.

Klean Leaf is based in Columbus, Ohio, so many sample sets ship from our U.S. office. This makes the sample step easier for U.S. clients because you can review the product before moving into packaging and production planning.

Samples may include different fragrances, fragrance-free sheets, package examples, or formula options depending on what is available and what you are trying to launch.

This step is important. Before you spend time on package artwork or place your first order, you should feel comfortable with the sheet itself.

Step 4: Confirm the Package Option

After you review the product samples, the next step is to confirm your preferred package style.

Common options include paper envelope packaging, paper box packaging, and other retail formats depending on the project.

Once the package option is confirmed, we will send you the dieline. Your designer can use the dieline to prepare the package artwork with the correct size, folds, bleed area, and required information.

At this stage, you should also prepare details such as product name, fragrance name, sheet count, load count, ingredients, caution statement, barcode, company information, and country of origin.

Step 5: Send Us Your Package Artwork

After your designer finishes the package artwork, you can send us the final art file.

Our packaging team will review the file and prepare package samples for approval. This gives you a chance to see how the design looks before the full production order moves forward.

One note: for sample printing, we can usually print cardboard or paper-based package samples, such as paper boxes or paper envelopes. We generally cannot print plastic package samples in the same way during the sample stage. If your project requires plastic packaging, we can still discuss the production option, but the sample process may be different.

Step 6: Review and Confirm Product, Fragrance, and Package Samples

Before placing the first order, we will confirm the key details with you:

  • Product formula
  • Fragrance
  • Sheet count
  • Package type
  • Package artwork
  • Package sample
  • Carton plan
  • Order quantity
  • Shipping information

This is the final review stage before production.

It is much better to slow down here and check the details carefully than to rush into production and find small issues later. Package artwork, barcode, claims, spelling, fragrance name, and product count should all be reviewed before approval.

Once everything is confirmed, we are ready to place your first production order.

Step 7: First Order Production Lead Time

Estimated production lead time is usually 45–60 days for first private label orders.

The first order takes longer because there are more steps involved: package preparation, printing, production scheduling, sheet manufacturing, packaging, quality checking, carton packing, and shipping coordination.

Repeat orders are usually smoother because the formula, package, and production details have already been confirmed.

If you are planning for a retail launch, Amazon launch, trade show, holiday season, or buyer presentation, we recommend starting early. Packaging and shipping always need extra time, especially for a first order.

A Few Things to Know Before Starting

Klean Leaf is based in Columbus, Ohio, and we work on Eastern Time. This helps U.S. clients communicate with us more easily during the sample and planning stage.

Our production and packaging team supports private label laundry detergent sheet projects, but every project is slightly different. Your formula, fragrance, packaging style, artwork timeline, and order quantity can all affect the final schedule.

Also, packaging approval is one of the most important parts of the process. A good product still needs clear, accurate, retail-ready packaging. The earlier your artwork is ready, the smoother the project will be.

Final Thoughts

Launching a laundry detergent sheets product line does not have to be confusing.

The basic workflow is simple: submit the form, schedule a meeting, review samples, choose packaging, prepare artwork, approve package samples, and then place the first order.

At Klean Leaf, our goal is to make the process clear from the beginning. We help you understand the product options, review the packaging choices, prepare the dieline, check the samples, and move into production with fewer surprises.

Whether you are building a new laundry brand or adding detergent sheets to an existing product line, the right workflow can save a lot of time.
